Welcome to the website of Kathleen Joy Khu, MD.

I am a board-certified neurosurgeon practicing in Manila, with subspecialty training in neurosurgical oncology and peripheral nerve surgery.

I graduated from the UP College of Medicine and did my residency in neurosurgery at the Philippine General Hospital. I underwent a clinical fellowship in neurosurgical oncology (surgery for brain tumors) at the National Neuroscience Institute in Singapore for 16 months, then went to Canada for further subspecialty training. I spent one year at the Toronto Western Hospital doing a fellowship in neurosurgical oncology, then a year in Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary for training in peripheral nerve surgery.

In addition to seeing, managing, and operating on patients, I also participated in the teaching of residents and medical students during the course of my training. Moreover, I was actively involved in clinical and laboratory research. As a result, I have co-authored several international journal publications and book chapters. I am also a reviewer for Neurosurgery, one of the most prestigious journals in neurosurgery.

Currently, I am affiliated with the following hospitals in Manila: Chinese General Hospital, Manila Doctors Hospital, and Philippine General Hospital. My clinic hours are every Tuesday, 5-7 pm at Healthway Medical Clinics, Robinson's Place Ermita, G/F Padre Faura entrance; and every Thursday, 1-4 pm at the new Faculty Medical Arts Building (FMAB) of the Philippine General Hospital on Taft Avenue.
